Hello, Need some guidance related to Toyota duet EJ-VE 1000cc engine swap options. Right now the engine of my car has died and i couldn’t able to find any good ej-ve or ej-de 1000cc engine right now. someone suggested me to swap it with EF-VE 660cc engine making almost same horsepower but around 26 Nm of torque less. Is This swap worth it or not. Also EF-VE is from Daihatsu tanto which weights around 920 Kg and Duet weights around 820 kg for FWD varients

On the topic of engine replacement. You will want to use the ECU from the car that you are getting the engine from. Failing to do so means the EF-VE will either not run or may self destruct prematurely do to incorrect programming for the EJ-VE engine.
Best to also find wiring diagrams for both engines and ecu’s to ensure that all the pins are in the correct position for the engine transplant.

currently i am also thinking to replace it with EF-DEM light pressure turbo engine.
