M51, I own 3 x EJ-DE Sirion’s for 12 years so far a '98,'01 and '04. All suffer from “when cold it smokes a bit” syndrome but the 11/01 seems to only puff if I accelerate hard before it at running temp.
I work operating old CNC lathes and milling machines that are older than the CD player.
Race a Cycle Speedway push bike on the weekends for something different. I used to repair automotive instrumentation for 13 years but hand rewinding bi-metal gauges, rebuilding speedometers etc is of no use when its all CANbus.
Also drive a 1977 XC Falcon Hardtop that I brought at 19 and luckily 31 years later the matching numbers 351c V8 manual still drives on Log Book registration.
Driving both cars back to back through the hills is a great change and re-learn of driving ability (or lack of it…) as well as feeling the different strengths and weaknesses from each vehicle in different driving situations.

On the M100 I gave it a weight reduction and twin yes twin, a nut drilled out and inverted rear sway bars held together with a longer bolt. (lift off over-steer has caught me a few times....) I also removed the lower foam from my Sirion seats and fitted thick seat covers. So I am now connected directly to the car. Now I sit low enough to heel and toe along with the lower centre of gravity, as well.

Also hand knocked out all the body deadening ( day or so and 30kg) and replaced the heavy carpet with a black bed sheet and bolted the now bucket seats back in. A solid connection with the car through the Adelaide hills.
With Nankang 185/50R14’s with 120 grip NS-2Rs and a camber kit with new shocks all round. Also removed spare (replaced with a can) jack, stereo, rear windscreen motor (now tail gate stays up, win/win) etc etc. And all the vibration dampening weights on the rubber blocks., under front bumper and exhaust etc. Lots of daily fun in the EJ-DE’s for over 12 years so far.
