My Daihatsu Mira L701 build so far
Started with a pretty standard 1.0L EJ-DE and slowly been doing bits to it. Fitted lowering springs which dropped it around 45mm, and changed the wheels to 14s with 165/55 tyres.
35% ceramic tints all round, deleted the black trim on the doors.
Fitted a pod filter which gives it a much nicer intake sound too.
Audio has had a decent upgrade as well. JVC head unit, upgraded 6 inch front and rear speakers, 4 channel amp, 10” underseat sub, plus sound deadening and foam in the doors to improve the sound and stop some of the rattles.
Also done a tacho cluster swap and fitted a central locking fob.
Still got plenty more I want to do to, shock upgrade next.
What engine upgrades are there for the EJ-DE, and is it worth putting in any strut bars?

Hi Twisted welcome to the forum. Thats a nice looking L7.
I wish we could get the 4doors here.(Australia).
I have a pod filter on mine also but I have about 130cm of intake piping before it. It does a U-turn goes across the top of the engine and down to Infront of the engine behind the front bar and I have a heat shield behind it to stop heat from the engine etc. It doesn’t do much but it slightly shifts the torque to more mid range rather than as low as what an ejde is.
You could get some extractor’s/ headers and a larger 1.75 inch exhaust if staying N/A and keeping the same engine.
If going turbo you will need an aftermarket ecu or get an efdet 660cc turbo engine with the stock efdet ecu.
Other than that the other option is a k3 swap from a sirion or yrv. that would give you a 1.3L 4cyl engine.
I hope that gives you some ideas.
