Hi all, have recently completed a manual swap into my auto ‘95 family heirloom after a cracked block and blown headgasket rendered the original engine useless.
I bought a complete manual ‘94 donor car in mechanically amazing condition where I used the entire engine/transmission/ wiring harness/ecu and plenty of extra bits, and threw it into my existing auto.
Upon my final lap plugging, plumbing and bolting I realised that 2 of the plugs that attach on the passenger side firewall (RHD CARS) were wrong.. the main concern which is looking to be majority of charge harness stuff, starter, temp sender etc wouldn’t plug in. The auto side (car side) is a 12 pin plug (presumably for the additional auto trans wires) where as the new side I have for the manual transmission loom is only 6 pins.
And also a thicker 10-ish gauge single wire that’s 1 pin on the engine side, 2 pin on the chassis side.
thinking this is mainly charge harness stuff, i was wondering if this was the actually cause of my no start situation or not, so I started wrapping my head around other options..
Note: no spark, power to the coil, two 12v signals at injector terminals.
grounding out the park/neutral switch?
Unsure why I would need to since I brought the entire manual loom and ecu, so I tried at the shifter end itself with no success, not sure what it’s needing where without a diagram.
Note: the car has cranked and turned over the entire time, making me think it doesn’t need to be corrected as above.
I decided to chop and link the 12 pin engine side of the harness swapping out the 6pin with what direc colour fit colour options were there (3 of 6) in desperation of no wiring info.
Immobiliser? Unsure between both ECUS I have, neither work.
Sensor/signal?
From here I don’t want to go digging into too many other possibilities and risk causing additional problems, both cars ran fine before the swap.
A bump in the right direction would be fantastic, hoping someone with a manual/auto applause can unplug this on their vehicle and tell me if it replicates my no start, Hopfully I can isolate my issue.
Thankyou in advance, Braden.
