Cant find engine number on EF-GL

Hi everyone! my mechanic and I cant seem to find the engine number anywhere on the engine. Would anyone know exactly where it is?

on the block between the alternator bracket and the bottom alternator bolt

If the number isn’t there whatsoever, somebody’s missing either an engine, an entire vehicle or both

not really, alot of EF’s and EJ’s are very lightly stamped and wear of over the years due to corrosion, cleaning etc

ed’s are terrible for this also
