Hey everyone, my beloved '00 Sirion GTVi has been having some issues with its automatic gearbox recently (shunts into reverse, unbalanced when in gear at idle, but otherwise fine when actually driving). Just wondering if anyone here knows a place in the Ipswich/Brisbane area who has some experience with Daihatsus and willing to take a look? Even if anyone knows where to potentiality get a replacement box from that would also be a great help. Thanks in advance.
Someone recently gave away an autobox near ipswich. I imagine any auto transmission place would have a good idea with them. I don’t know of any unfortunately.
I’ve already booked her in at a local auto trans place tomorrow, however they seemed pretty reluctant to even take a look, that along with prior negative experience with them my confidence isn’t very high.

They weren’t any help. I explained the issue quite well when i dropped it off but the person i talked to must not have communicated it to anyone when they actually looked at it. They only ended up doing a scan saying there was a fault with the speed sensor, i really doubt thats the actual issue due to the harsh physical nature of the symptoms but someone can lmk if it might be.
I reached out to a daihatsu fb group with the same question i asked here and someone recommended a guy who has some experience with Sirions. I’ve got him booked for next week so fingers crossed he can at least help diagnose the issue.
