Hey everyone, I’ve got a 1995 Daihatsu HandiVan (L500, EF-EL EFI) that’s got no spark.
Here’s what’s been done so far:
Replaced the distributor cause the old one decided to die in spectacular fashion (picture attached)
Replaced the coil pack, plugs and leads
Set cylinder #1 to TDC on the compression stroke and aligned the dizzy rotor to plug #1 .
Still no spark at the plugs when cranking.
What am I missing here?
With the distributor out of the head but plugged in to power and the ignition leads pull a spark plug from the head and attach it to the lead. Leave it on the cylinder head and turn over by hand. If you get spark, the alignment was the issue.
Also make sure you’re not 180° out of sync.

i did try cranking the engine over with a plug grounded to the head as thats how i confirmed i had no spark.
ill give this a go tomorrow morning though and ill let you know how i go.
On a side note, when you do this you should also hear your injectors fire.
