I’ve finally got my Rocky running after replacing the head gasket.
I’ll post something later of the process with the pictures that I didn’t lose when my phone went swimming.
Long story short, New head gasket fitted, engine back together.
It starts, it runs, it revs and drives fine.
What is does at idle is bounces between 1200 and 1400 rpm and the check engine light is on.
I have gone over every vaccum line and traced/checked for leaks/checked its routed correctly.
I’ve checked the earths for the engine. One was mounted in the wrong place but its inconsequential and didn’t make a difference.
What I cant find, is the air flow sensor. I’ve found a replacement online but its not listed in the manual and I can’t find it on the engine. I am suspecting that it doesn’t have one. Is anyone else able to confirm this?

I have never seen a MAF sensor on my 1992 Rocky while cleaning throttle body. I have the service manual in front of me and on page EC-3, Component Layout & Schematic Diagram page, there is none shown. I think you are correct, there is no MAF sensor.
FWIW: AI says no MAF too, saying:
