Feroza HD-E 1.6 Fluctuating Idle and occasionally stalling in natural when warm

I’ve got this issue which has popped up after hitting a bump in the road going around 60kph. It jolted the car and then pulling up to an intersection I clutched in and the car died.

Since this incident it will occasionally stall when warm (only after driving around, not just sitting warmed up) and the idle when cold fluctuates around 1-200 rpm.

I’ve gone down many rabbit holes with trying to resolve this issue.

Things that I’ve checked/replaced are:

  • Distributer timing
  • Engine timing
  • Replaced Spark plugs (old plugs weren’t that discolored, slight carbon build up nothing major)
  • Replace fuel filter
  • Cleaned inline cone fuel filter (did have junk in it but cleaned and issue still present)
  • Replaced fuel pump
  • Replaced fuel pump relay
  • Replaced idle control valve
  • Replaced MAP sensor
  • Replaced and clocked the throttle position sensor
  • Cleaned Fuel Pressure reg and fuel injectors
  • All new vacuum lines
  • New - Second hand ECU.

I’ve got an o2 sensor on the way to rule that out.

The issue is still persisting with a fluctuating idle and occasional stalling when driving, then stopping clutched in;

has anyone had any similar issues? and would anyone be able to help point me in the correct direction?

**Note: Its been in a garage and the’ve looked at it for a week and could find any issues and gave me the truck back.

Possibly an air bubble in cooling system. Not sure on this but worth a try. Idle issues can be caused by this.

Try putting a funnel that fits perfectly in the radiator opening and fill it about half way up the funnel. Let it run through 2 heat cycles. Then just to make sure let it run through a 3rd with the heater on.

My other thought on it maybe the throttle body itself. From memory I think they have like a wax pellet senor thing where the coolant goes through. You could also try bypassing the coolant line from going through the throttle body. This may make cold starts a but harder.

These may or may not work. I have not had any experiences with feroza’s but I have owned charades. (h series engine)

These are cheap easy things to try and if it works fantastic if not it’s another thing eliminated.
