Hi all!
I’m a recent proud owner and adopter of a baby Daihatsu kei imported to the US, and figured I would go ahead and make an account here seeing as this seems to be the hot spot online for Daihatsu enthusiasts.
It’s a 2001 Daihatsu Naked Turbo X (L750s) with the EF-DET/AT4 powertrain (94000km) I purchased from Mitsui Co. in Japan and imported to Galveston. (They called it the Samurai spec but I’m not fully sure what that means?) She’s now registered and roadworthy where I live and is an absolute blast to drive! My next goals are to change all the fluids, upgrade the intake/exhaust to improve flow and reduce turbo lag, and install an improved aftermarket stereo. (The one in it is JP frequency only so I only have 2 stations I can listen to haha) I get looks everywhere I drive and my wife absolutely loves driving her as well. I’m also hoping to take it to car shows in the southern plains eventually seeing as so many folks love checking it out!
Anyway, I look forward to mingling with folks here to get some good advice from more seasoned Daihatsu owners and maybe share some advice I come across as well! Hit me up if you have a Naked too or even an EF-DET as I’d love to have someone to help with upkeep tips and tricks.
