HC-C Blown Headgasket! Options?

Hey guys, i have a 94 g200 charade ex manual 5dr hatch here, and have blown a head gasket.

Casting a line out here, im waiting for repair costs to be estimated. What would you suggest i do?

I would consider HC-E swap, but i have questions around ecus for them, i hear the ecus can be tricked into thinking they are manual by cutting a grounding wire. Is this true? If so would this be a suitable option for me with this car going forward?

Another option was to either take a JB-DET from a l901s move, or a 4efte from a gt starlet.

Let me know what you would do, because transmission and parts etc for either engine is becoming hard to find

Hi Big Red,

Welcome. Hmm, head gasket question, and we don’t even know each other very well. You know, stranger danger and all that? Sorry, I hope my humour is not so poor that you didn’t laugh even just a little. Can you please go to the “new people’s” page and post a short intro and perhaps even a pic of your car or two. If you go to a bit more effort like that the family here will perhaps be more likely to help out since we do at times have people that just use the forum for questions but never contribute.
