Hello from Germany and a possible L701 driver

Hello to everyone,

I’ve done a bit of reading in this forum and I think it’s time for me to introduce myself. I’ve had many cars in the last years (mostly sh*tboxes), which lead to many hours of reading in all kind of forums. One car that did in fact leave a mark on my heart was a Cuore L701 automatic, that I bought in 2019 and that (unfortunately) failed at the german TÜV in 2020 because of rust.

Now I’m getting the chance of buying a new one but there is a catch. It has no key. The previous owner lost it and now it doesn’t start. He already got a new key which opens all doors but it’s not programmed to the immobilizer. Is it complicated to program and is it even possible without any of the original keys?

A lot of questions right now, but I have the feeling that if it’s possible to get this little nugget I just need to do it.

Some tricks exist, but question is how thes are seen in germany (known for strict tuv etc.)

Other hand, car is cheap and immo delete is hard to find

There was funny trick in K11 micra, after facelift when renault came in, micras were upgraded with NATS immo. It was known for being faulty and many micras went to junkyard because of this. But someone asked: how about old non immo micras?

Long story short, with some cable management its is possible to wake up facelift micra with prelift ecu.

In L700 immo was present since begining of production I think. Maybe there were markets without immo, like USDM subarus. Wait for aussie crowd, maybe someone will provide non- immo ecu.

But immo delete is overall easier and cheaper. If you want to do this before buyng car you can buy second hand ecu, done immo baypass and swap ecu on car to see how its running. Cost should be minimal compared to car price.

Also ask arround that this is possible, our neighbour car electronic magican told me that this is not always possible. They tends to not touch older systems where immo is in separate box under dash.

Funny fact- daewoo lanos immo was so faulty, that half of these cars has it deleted hehe

In Australia the cuore didnt have immobilser as far as I know. Only sirions did and some ther models did. For those you needed key, key reader, immob and ecu to all match. As for a programer, I don’t know much about it other than there is one programmer that works. (cant remember the name).

Does anyone know where the difference is between european and aussie ECU’s? Maybe even what I need to change to use them without immobilizer?

If the replacement vehicle is of the same type like the rusty one, why not switch the entire front wiring harnesses, ecus and steering columns, if the rusty one’s ecu was still functioning?

The rusty one went into parts 5 years ago and there are no parts left. I did mostly have vehicles from Audi, VW, etc. There were no need for storing Daihatsu parts

mounted to not working car should make it run.

Immo antenna is rumored to not be coded as set with rest of the parts, its just signal reader.

Also I omited diferent ignition port (if you dont have any key its obvious that you have to break od replace ignition lock)

Maybe ausie non-immo ecu postage to europe will be not so expensive? It should be easiest way. Non immo ecus ale somewhat joker item, sometimes people store these to diagnose faulty immo

Here comes a question that this keyless car is worth those awkward operations…

An ECU exported to Asia or Oceania would be the best way to go, given that it’s highly improbable that anybody would steal an older car having little resale value. If I ever have problems with my ECU, the first thing I’d be doing would be to amputate any unneccessary circuits that could prevent my vehicle from running. That could also be a way out for you, depending on if you consider a theft immobilizer to be important. Anybody familiar with electronics should be able to open your ECU and then determine which circuit activates the immobilizer

Yeah, I think cuore parts is not so expensive because little market interest, you can try immo delete

Look theres even “startup set” at our alegro (ebay never gained popularity in poland)

Here is the pictures of the L7 ecu that I said I would take.

The plugs are the same as the black ecu’s but there plug hole on the right has no pins.

I also remembered that @b_hoves may know the model of the key programmer etc for Daihatsu’s.

There’s obviously less to go wrong. Less the pins, less the worries :grin:

It was the scan too, you had to find either the Denso DS21 or Denso DS-II. Then you could reset the rolling code to program a new key to the immobiliser and ecu.
