Hello everyone, I’m actually a newcomer to Australia. I currently own a 2000 Sirion M100 in Perth and unfortunately most mechanics and garages around me seem to be not quite familiar with Daihatsu. Could anyone give me some advice on how to find parts or reliable service for my little Sirion in Perth? Any recommendation would be much appreciated🙇
I used to own a green Toyota Duet (Rebadged Sirion) back in my hometown, Hong Kong. It was such a lovely first car and I have fallen in love with Daihatsu since then.
Hello and welcome from another Perthie. What side of the river are you on? This guys North in Wangara, he does my Mrs’s logbook services and always does the right thing by her. He’s a Subaru specialist but lists Daihatsu’s on his site aswell. http://www.cksautos.com.au/
Another M100? That’s GREAT! Welcome to LiveToDai and hope you stick with us! Your Sirion is the silver on the 1st photo? Because the silver on the 2nd photo I think is M101s.
Every little thing on Sirion M100 is really easy to do. Sparkplugs, air filter, oil change, brake pads and disks, even the drum brakes are easy to replace.
What are your plans for the LITTLE Sirion? (it might be little, but a great LITTLE)
Actually she does need a bit of work, the CV joint started to click recently and there is some oil leak. The previous mechanic I went to service thinks the engine has timing problem+missfire and told me to think about buying a new car dont waste money on it. But I think he may just not familiar with the 3 cylinder engine. The engine seems fine just a little vibrate like the previous one I have back in Hong Kong.
Yes, the silver one in the 1st photo is my current M100. I used to have the green one in the 2nd photo and the silver M101s is just another Daihatsu lover’s car in Hong Kong.
After the safety services you need to do, cv joints etc, if I were you, I would change this steel rims to aluminum. Then the tail lights, I don’t like the original of M100. In my plans is to replace them with the tail lights of M101s or M111s. Also I want to add the wind spoiler of M101s. But that is not my topic OR the place to talk about my M100. Tell us your plans about yours!!
Welcome to Perth and L2D.
I’m SOR so can’t really help with NOR mechanics that know their Daihatsu’s. I tend to do my own work at home though to save money and it’s kind of more satisfying
