Hi all new to the forum ive just engine swapped a sirion EJDE into my L251 as my EJVE blew up and am planning on rebuilding the VE with an EF DET turbo kit on it has anyone done this before?
We only got the ejde in Australia so we didn’t get the variable valve timing. I know people have used parts of the efdet kit to put on the ejde like the exhaust manifold. Most have just gone a whole efdet instead. You will be needing a different ecu compared to the ejde one you may be using now. If you use the ejde ecu it wont be long until the engine blows. (the timing is locked). I’m not sure if the ejve is different though
Yes I realised after posting this that I actually have a de not a ve. But I have a whole de that needs a rebuild and someone gifted me a complete ef det turbo kit so im gonna rebuild that and use the turbo kit on it eventually not too stressed about ecu as id go with something aftermarket by that point just wondering if anyone else has done the same in aus
yeh its been done. mighty car mods pretty much just did it. I never watched all of it but they did. others have used the manifolds and used a bigger turbo as the stock one is a little small but works as far as I know.
