Hi everyone new 1999 L700 owner

Hi everyone,

Just introducing myself to you all and my (new to me) 1999 Handi L700. I love how raw this thing is and I plan to do a lot of modifications over the years to it. For now I just wanted to say hi and introduce the car.

What I hope it will look like by next year:

Thanks everyone, cheers.

M.

Hi and welcome. Yours looks a lot like mine  Mine is white also but have a 4 seater and not a handivan.
I like the projected view of your goal. I have a simliar view but due to where I can’t go low. I may try to make the illusion of lower with flares but not sure yet. Im in no hurry. Have you seen the TR front Bars? They may appeal to your liking too?

Thanks, looking forward to seeing all the great builds on here, getting ideas and help in the right direction. I’m a Sydney local and looking at getting the following installed before I send it to the spray booth:

Power steering rack

Lowering Springs

I will probably end up getting some nice 14inch wheels but that will be after paint is done. I will give it a proper service this weekend as its running slightly rough on idle, goes ok though so thinking oil, air filter, plugs and a good throttle body and intake clean

Cheers for the advice.

Power steering rack really isn’t necessary.
Mine has it and in all honesty I have driven many L200’s and owned a move L600. All without power steer and on an L7 I would say to just stay without and put the cash elsewhere.
The L7 just feels like a refined L2 or L6 in my opinion.
In saying all that if you want the power steering rack then get it. Do your build they way you want.

I already have the rack, lines and pump so may as well invest in getting it put in

I wish I could do all this stuff myself, I don’t have the time unfortunately, currently working two jobs. Defo doing the service myself, plugs, oil, etc.. I don’t have a flat enough surface to do the gearbox oil though :frowning:
