Bought another L251 charade , old one was mrgray and was silver new one a very rough little 330,000km old nugget. Someone loved it though full tint and a custom cat back system made me pick it up for a whopping $1000 . Needed some love full brakes front and rear , lower control arms , wheels bearings and a nice service she was back on the road as a daily driver
I’ve since done some basic stuff , swap the stereo and speakers , some new tyres and I believed this car was truly destined to be the most basic of daily drivers , that was until @b_hoves was getting rid of his L251 which was also mine prior to his ownership . With some mods and little goodies left on the bones of that shell I decided id make another fun car daily driver and spend a little coin on it
With some low emissions driving (push it down the hill) got the car on the trailer and got it home , nearly lost it off the trailer however after going over a pot hole and losing a rear spring that luckily just sat in a hole in the trailer where the ramps come out no wonder no one was tailgating me. Got started on stripping some of the bits I was gonna keep , rad and AC condenser , shifter setup , front bar , copen brakes and wheels , metal EJ rocker cover etc , will fully strip the car down later on as a parts car and keep the drivetrain
First things first clean up the set of copen wheels , all 4 wheels had rash and marks , fresh prime up and repair and some FPV dark argent basecoat and clear to seal the deal , came up pretty neat better than before and better than steelies
Then I decided id paint the car in the shed , I’m a spray painter by trade no issue there but my God did I make a mess , my floor is green because I was too lazy to plastic it down lol here’s some pics of me slowly every other day painting a panel at a time to keep my compressor from spitting water out the gun
I cheated in the end and did the outer doors , qtrs and can’t rails and roof at work in the booth , my compressor would have spat so much water on the roof and I just wanted it done,
Cheers man , nothing better than British racing green if you want a dark green , I had 6L of the stuff from a project I didn’t go ahead with so had to use it up haha
