Front door speakers - cutouts present, suitable for 6.5" speakers. Adapters required for DIN speakers. Stock cutouts 3x crosshead screws at 120 degree spacing.
Rear door sepeakers - cutouts present, suitable for 5.25" speakers. Adapters required for DIN speakers. Stock cutouts 3x crosshead screws at 120 degree spacing.
Wiring tails present on the door loom ends for 2-way speakers only
Hi, Do you remember anything about the maximum depth of the rear speakers? From your window replacement thread the speaker hole looks quite shallow. I found speakers that need 45mm.
Also, do M101 Sirions not come with rear speakers as standard?
IIRC the speakers are mounted low in the door so 45mm depth shouldn’t be a problem - I think that even with the rear windows fully down they shouldn’t interfere with the backs of the speakers. The door void there is at least 45mm deep, especially accounting for the speaker mounting flange being at least 5mm behind the rim of the speaker cones I’d have thought?
I was surprised, but no - they don’t seem to come with rear speakers as standard - at least not on a pretty high-spec Rally 2.
Okay thank you. So i should look for something like this to make sure the speakers fit the pre-drilled holes in the door correct? Theyre kinda hard to find for 5.25 inch so far, you reckon i could make them work without rings?
So this is the issue I ran into, and abandoned the project in the end!
You could make your own out of MDF, or probably have some made up by a 3d printing firm if you provided them with dimensions or mock up a file for it? Actually, this might be a great real-world use case for AI if you ask it to make you a .stl file for a 5.25" speaker adapter to fit a 3-screw design at 120 degree spacing and a 4-screw design at 90 degree spacing.
I reused the old rings on the oem speakers by pulling them apart and reused them as speaker bracket
