Currently preparing for the jb-jl swap into my l200. I have a pretty good pin out diagram now from the original ef-jl engine loom.
The problem now is that some of these pin outs to the body loom are ECU pins and I haven’t been able to find a jb-jl ECU pinout to put them against. I’m unsure of a safe way to figure out which ECU pin will go where other than trial and error.
Anyone know of a diagram? Will a jb-det one help some? Can @NikMF help as I know it’s been done in Malaysia?
Good engine but being honest the 3 pot engine has more parts available for tuning.
I would head down that road rather than jb jl engine
Very hard to find aftermarket parts for compared to 3 pot engines
Maylasia is the place to source all the good parts being honest they crazy into tuning them things up
Jb jl good for slighty over 100 hp with stock parts if you want more its heavy tuning and hard to find the stuff worldwide and a standalone ecu not to forget
Yeah I’m aware, I have an ef-jl engine but it’s royally fucked and with what I do, I decided that ej-de was not the route for me and I managed to get a jb-jl for cheap so that’s the route I went. I have further plans with the JB-jl beyond this but yeah, it’s just getting a few wires figured out is what’s stopping me now. Not chasing immense power but just enough.
sorry for the late replying, most of the JBJL swaping engine will doing together with stock JBJL looms for easier connection unless using stand alone management.
Yes will do, so far I’ve mostly confirmed what has been previously posted on the forum regarding ef-jl pin out as I did most of the work using this but I’ll share my spreadsheet once done anyways.
With me going speeduino, I’ve torn the JB-JL loom apart and traced all wires for recycling and knowledge. The middle connector on the JB-JL ecu is missing but I’ve created full pin out diagrams for the other two ecu connectors that connect to the engine and have labelled all wire colours too. I’ll share screenshots below but feel free to contact me for more questions or clarifications.
