Kelisa 1.0 Auto EJDE

Greetings from Malaysia. I have been searching for a place to ask some questions about the EJDE engine.

I have looked into engine swapping to The 1.3 Storia or The YRV Turbo but i really would like to do something with my little special EJDE. I want to keep it automatic for now but if there is a way i can do something about that it would be great.

as for what i would like for my handling:

  1. suspension is from D2 motorsport adjustable
  2. Ultra racing stabilizers

I currently do not have a budget but a tentative price would be around RM 5000 / around 1000 USD

My Questions :

  1. Is low boost bolt on turbo (EF-DET) worth it
  2. What can i do to the engine itself (pistons, conrod, etc)
  3. What is a good brake upgrade

I am still very new to this and this is the first time that i am using any forum. Thank you to anyone that has answered and happy modding

Hi and Welcome,
Your in Malaysia which is the perfect place for parts availability. Most of us wont have the access to parts you have there.

Not sure about the efdet bolt on’s I have heard they are a bit small but I have not seen proper data to support it or from a source I have found reliable. I have heard its all to small but that is all I have heard and Im sure if a slightly larger turbo was added it would be much better or if it is ateast modified to make it better. You would need the ecu ofcoarse or aftermarket as the ejde ecu wont handle boost and you will pop the engine quick.

The engine itself, you can port the head for the intake and exhaust manifold’s to make it breath better. If you put about a 130cm cold air intake on it that should give you a touch more mid range power.
I am not sure what is available for piston’s etc you probably havemore choices there than what is available here.

For brake Upgrade I would look at copen L880k parts.

Would love to see a pic of your car too

Please go to the “new people” section and share some pics.

As for handling you’ve listed parts. What do you hope to get from those bits? Forget touching sway bars and get the spring rates right. Soft front spring stiff rear. The listing I’ve seen for D2 adjustables shows a 6.7kg front and 3kg rear. That’s ridiculous and should be the other way around. Softer front is essential to have any grip, both for cornering and getting off from a stand still.

Based on you budget, forget the turbo. Brake upgrade use the search function here as it’s been gone over before. Engine wise a swap to a K3VE instead of a turbo on the EJDE will yield more power and torque per dollar, be easier, more reliable and have you up and going on the road sooner.

You mention pistons and rods. I’d say such things are outside your budget.
