My dad owns a 1992 or 1993 Daihatsu Feroza II SXP F300. Its been down and out for a few weeks now. I’ve been looking for an OBD scanner but can’t seem to find any. I haven’t been able to locate the port either and get told different things online.
We’ve been diagnosing the car as much as we can without it with leakdown tests, but I thought it’d be a good idea to just run an OBD scan. I’ve been told it’s an OBD1 port but again, i’ve been mislead online and had no solid answers.
I found a port on the top right side of the engine bay, its green and has six pins. I’m going to try doing the flash check engine light test now, i just don’t know how to translate whatever code it may flash at me.
The car turns and runs, but it gets really choppy after a bit as if its misfiring. Doing the leakdown test concluded that when the piston was at TDC, according to the pressure gauge, the mark on the crankshaft pulley did not line up with the mark on the block, so not at TDC. We had a busted radiator spilling coolant everywhere and we suspect thats what made the crankshaft pulley slip so much.
I’ve found translations for the codes and did the flash check engine test.
This is the only port i’ve been able to find. Again, in the first photo i did the check engine flash test and there was no issue.
I think i’ve strayed away from the original post so i’ll redirect it. I’m looking for the OBD port on this car and the corresponding scanner. As per photo 2, this is the only port i’ve found so i’m not sure if that is the diagnostic port.
