My YRV project car

Whilst working out how to tackle the head gasket replacement I added gasket sealer to the coolant and ran that through the engine as directed on the bottle. The result? There now seem to be no exhaust gasses getting into the coolant (the test stayed blue) and so it seems I have bought some time to get sorted.

I now need to source the right replacement gasket set. I have come up with this from the internet. Is it right?

valve stem seals

Looks more like the gasket that goes on the exhaust manifold after the cat where the exhaust bolts on.

not sure and the big thing around it all (if a gasket) would be a sump gasket at a guess.

I’d stay away from that cheap China toy store.

This is what a serious gasket set should look like and contain:

Thanks all. I haven’t set about the gasket replacement yet. I am having a go at servicing the front brake calipers with this spares kit. I am working up to the more scary and technical head gasket job.

get some 234mm brake calipers and holders, discs and pads.
I assume you have 13inch wheels so they fit
Or even better get set from Sirion2 or Materia 247 and 254 only fits with 14inch wheels

Those 212mm are a horror to service

Slider pens are the most horror of it most even stick after rebuilding

They are just too small for the job

I mostly throw those away just a pita to rebuild compared to the Tokico and Mando units

Should be a direct fit and upgrade getting rid of those pesty slider pens

Thanks for the advice.

I had to go to a machine shop to take a fraction of the mm from the calliper cyclinder . That was the only way to get them to fit. I will have to do the same on the other side too.

I hope they wont fail again.

So far all projects L701+ is with Tokico 234mm/247/254 replaced here

The braking on the Autobahn is laughing dangerous with 212mm
