Non-dai front brake swaps for L700

Hello there

A bit thinkering in lazy shift at work.

Dunno how is it at other markets, but as a Yaris TS owner I instantly noticed that front cuore brakes seems to be yaris/vitz/echo rears:

Dai

Koyota

Also due the diferent shape (like non slider, oposite piston caliper lookalike)

It is mounted via adapter from factory:

Makes me wonder for weeks since noticed this. Other dais ,that are well known donors for L700 are not exist in my country. (Older sirion and copen) Theres only a few YRVs.

With all this Toyota similarities, does anyone tried any yaris brake swaps? I generally aiming for a bit bigger and vented disc. Yaris seems to have exact same bolt pattern and center hole as dai.

Also theres “unifinished business” with subaru 4 piston calipers, but i think is overkill for cuore. Fo sure it looks nice, but much unsprung kilos added. These are cast iron!

Seen two or three times, that someone planned to put on these, but never mounted and working on car.

If someone discovered another swap candidate pleas post. Scrapyard glory days is also long gone here due EU enviromental law. Many great places are closed after 2019…

Spring coming, lets gooo

If you don’t mind using a custom adapter bracket, I actually think the ones from the Toyota AE111 are the best option, and I’m planning to use them for my own setup right now. I’ve seen examples of people doing this exact swap online, so it’s definitely doable.

That being said, I’m not sure how easy it is to source AE111 parts in your country, so this advice might not be super practical for you. Anyway, thanks.

The new model Sirion (M300) brakes also fit the L700 hubs

Whoa, great info! These are quite common here nowadays!

Any disc specs? Ill try dig something in webs

AE111 is perfect example of exotic koyota known only from Gran Turismo. But theres still some E10 corollas visible.

Btw E11 was totally WIPED by Africa. Theres even vids floating in webs from trailers unloading, with polish plates still on car

I use DBA495’s from Disk Brakes Australia you might want an equivalent from a supplier closer to you but if you go on their website it has the full list of specs

dba.com/product/front-street-series-brake-rotor-dba495/

They even do a slotted option
