I found a cluster on eBay for a German L251 Cuore VI

Thought it was a straight swap but then I saw that it has an electronic speedo, not mechanical like mine :\

I’m trying to track down a speed sensor from the German L251 Cuore and then I might be able to wire it to an aftermarket ECU. Fingers crossed :crossed_fingers:t3:

Look good though. Nice offset too

Some Toyota Celica’s ran a electric speedometer sensor. You can change the guys from the gear from the EJ box, then get a jaycar electric speedometer adjustment kit. You can fine tune the speedometer with a GPS speedometer.

Thank you for the info! I’ll keep trying to find the L251 GDM Cuore speed sensor over the next few weeks…It’s probably the easiest way to do it…If I find one!

Indicators installed today. Also test fitted the centre caps.

Installed some cheap eBay curtains to see how they are. Rails are just double-sided tape. I’ll let the adhesive do its thing and install the curtains properly tomorrow.

Oh, one thing I forgot to post was that I removed the backseat.

I got a cheap foam mattress, cut it so it fit nicely and covered it with an old bedsheet.

It’s really comfortable, and I can stretch right out with the passenger seat tilted forwards.

Looks nice so far dude. Do the wheels poke out much?

This guy put an L150 instrument cluster in his L250. Although Jap model came with a 660cc motor, where as Aus delivered model came with the 989cc.

Thanks svp! I just read his Move cluster swap and it is awesome but it’s still driven mechanically…I’m looking to get an electronic signal for my new cluster somehow. Maybe if I can’t find the Daihatsu L251 VSS I should try what Dale suggested or make my own hall effect sensor.

Also, I’m not sure about this either, but I don’t think the EJ should go above 6500RPM, his redline was 8000RPM! Edit: just remembered he has the 660cc turbo :expressionless:

Haha yeah  my front wheels do poke out a little, but I’m searching for coilovers that will hopefully fix that with adjustable pillow ball uppers and give me a bit more low at the same time. Or I could just pull the guards. Or I could put spacers in the rear to make them all poke evenly, and then stretch tyres on and slam it and get defected. I’ll start with option 1. Or option 3 with bolt on fender flares
