Partsbin special HC-E turbo build

I’ve been contemplating building a HD-E turbo for quite some time now, and have a Garrett TB02 Turbo laying in my shelve, with a fitting exhaust manifold for the H-series engines. I bought it for like €150,- a couple of years back.

My daily [A red 92 G100 sedan, you can find it in my posts] has its M.O.T. coming up, and the engine is toast. The crankshaft seal is leaking and theres just not a lot of power left, also consumes oil like crazy. I haven’t always treated her the best :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:.

I was able to buy a second hand HC-E in good shape of a friend of mine. While i was picking up the engine we started talking about how to approach the HD-E build, and came up with an awesome plan [More about this in the future]. The plan we worked out however, is going to need a much bigger turbo… :innocent:

This means i now have a half decent HC-E which is going to get fully serviced to get put into my sedan. It also means i suddenly have a TD02 and fitting manifold just lying there on the shelve… Not reserved for anything :innocent::innocent: I also have a set of 300cc injectors laying around, which i got for free with the 1.6 G200 i used to own a couple of years back.

We all know where this going :joy:My idea is to try to run around 0.3 - 0.4 bar of boost on a decent condition, stock HC-E. I am currently in the progress of cleaning and servicing the engine.

My goal is to squeeze around 115-130HP out of it, with the least amount of lag possible. Just to give her that bit more umph.

This project is going to be my first time touching a turbo (Apart from when i bought it of course :squinting_face_with_tongue:). Im looking forward to challenging myself and seeing the results.
