So my Sirion m300 1.5 3sz gearbox broke
3rd gear broke on cluster and counter gear
Tried looking around for the 1.5 box with no luck - gearbox code 955 82c 004A
Do you think that the k3 box will work? Code 951
Are the ratios the same?
I cannot find any details with regards to the gearbox code - has anyone had any luck with these?

Gearbox lasted 340k kms which is quite good
Can I use 3rd gear from another gearbox to rebuild this one?

Seems like the k3 and 3sz box have the same ratios and final drives

I was looking for info about this. I checked the code from the gearboxes since I have a 1.3 and a 1.5 but the codes were different. Don’t know if they will fit and work though.
One thing I know with Japanese manufactures is that they seem to build every car/bike with different parts. I’ve seen at least 5 different front bumpers on sirions in the Netherlands alone. So I’m never sure if the parts will fit. I’ve had 2 1.3’s and both had different parts like the steering knuckles etc. So if you could once and for all confirm that the gearboxes would fit that would be great.
I suspect that I need to replace the clutch on the 1.3 that I have so if I could assist you in any way please let me know.

I can confirm that the bellhousing is different on the boxes
I did manage to find a local company that managed to take the 1.3 internals and install them into the 1.5 housing.
Will be picking up the box this morning and installing it tomorrow.
I will report back on the gear ratios

Materia 1.5 boxes are same as sirion2 1.5 boxes?

Materia’s are super rare in South Africa, so finding spares from a crashed one is difficult
Oddly enough, once apon a time we did get a limited edition Materia 1.5 turbo (3sz-ve)
Only 40 were made. I wonder what gearbox they used

The ratios from the 1.3 box seems to be slightly longer than the original box ratios
Car doesn’t feel as ‘sprightly’ as before
did you keep the final drive ratio of the Materia?
I have a Sirion m300 1.5
The gearbox repair company swapped over the internals from a m300 1.3 sirion gearbox into the 1,5 housing including the final drive
My 3rd gear broke on the original box sending lots of metal pieces into the box probably damaging other gears

better have long ratio can race it with lower gears and stay in it longer
