Thought I’d add a little section over here for my car project build and take it out of the Questions and Answers section.
This is my 2000 Daihatsu Cuore with a K3VET engine I have owned as my first car and never plan on selling so will forever be the project if you know you know.
Most recent work has included the rust repair and undercoating to make sure no more rust can live within my car
Guys did an amazing job fixing up the rear quarter rust, anyone that owns a Daihatsu you should know the pain of rear rust hahaha
Guys also did a fap job on sealing the car and undercoating it.
Before
After its been washed
After
I’m super happy with the results.
They also fitted my BC Racing coilovers which I would recommend to anyone who is looking.
Treated myself to a set of 13’s wide stance style ready for some arches
Will carry on updating as time goes on but this is where it is currently at, arches are pending fitment along with a new radio

So finally go round to putting the bin lids on so its drivable Not to everyone’s taste so I have found out but idk, its my car haha
Was no going back after this, lined everything up and drilled the holes, painted the bare metal to protect as much as it can, dont really want any more rust haha
Didn’t get many pictures of the process unfortunately however was pretty simple, put some rubber stripping on the edge to protect the paint too
I think it looks really good, defiantly makes my bonnet look more part of the car haha
Next up will hopefully (fingers crossed) be the exhaust, the original YRV one just ain’t it haha is now knocking around where its old, hangers are giving out too so think its time for an upgrade

if you put some black side skirts on the would make it look even better. I think it looks fine

I did think about some skirts as well, wasn’t sure which I’d be able to get to fit, without drilling any holes rather not put holes in my sills. heavy glue option only i think
get some sirion ones and put them on the opposite sides as they look better that way. eg right on left and left on right. You could use sikaflex 227 to stick them on. Just need a couple of people to help.
( may have to trim a little off them)

Have to see if I can get hold of some from somewhere in the UK haha
Thank you for that I will defiantly look into it, see if I can get new unpainted ones to match the black of the arches

Suzuki Wagon R+/Vauxhall Agila Mk1 skirts fit straight on.
I’ve also seen people fit Vauxhall Astra Mk4 ones, but they don’t look as good imo and they need some cutting. The front lip of those fits really well in terms of shape but also need to be cut in the center to fit.

Already got the Astra lip on the front of mine thats enough vaxuall parts or the thing will start breaking down more
I will have a look see if I can get hold of some Sirion ones new then 2nd hand, if not probably look at Micra ones see what they have to offer be a trial and error on which ones to get.
recommendations on what I can use to stick them on with is more what I’m looking for as I aint a clue what I could use

Oh yea I just noticed the lip now, no hate on the Astra though

Not quite a Dai though is it hahah Astra’s are okay just not my thing, don’t really like any Vauxhall car to be fair. My partner has an Insignia and I hate driving it.

Not really had much of an update on the build. Just moved house so things have been put on hold at the moment. Managed to get my rear door changed over thanks to my mate so it don’t have a dent anymore. We will ignore the colour for now
I went to my local place to get a quote on an exhaust system custom made for the turd as that is now the next big thing I need to get. Also currently in the process of finding strut bars too. Seems to be most of my challenge is Uk market don’t offer anything off shelf so I have to look abroad and then comes down to shipping cost lol but then if I go custom made the price is huge.
Little picture of the banana door
Hoping I will be able to get everything all together for mid next year as that’s the new date plan for my re spray finger crossed
Added appreciation photo of my friends motors. Love their little cars and helpful guys with mine
