3sz intake upgrade

Hello everyone! My name is Nikolas and i come from Greece. I own a daihatsu terios 1.5 M/T 2006, a car wich is very common in my country. All the years that i have this car, i ve made simple modifications basicly to make the car go a little more easier off road. Though is has a lack off low range gears i m looking a way to give the engine a little bit more torque.
I m thinking of changing the air filter w
ith the intake hose, just because i think that the current location off the filter box, doesn’t help a smooth air flow because off the design. I ve done this modification in my old toyota starlet and it changed a lot at low rpm.
Thinking of putting a long intake tube which will probably help low rpm torque, combined with a clean air filter taken from the honda s2000. After that it will have a straight tube instead off the current, which i think it is not good being like a square box above the intake.

Please tell me your opinions and if someone has already done something like this, what was the result.

Thank you in advance and i hope what I wrote is understandable, because my English are not so good

Welcome Nik,

Your Terios should benefit from a longer inlet tract if you need more torque. It would be great if you could do a post with before and after images and a few words on your experience. I have found it works. Also check out the youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/Garage4age and hunt around the the testing of rampipes/velocity stacks.
