Project Müllheim, L276 Resurrection (semi track?)

Although I really love the effort you’ve put in, one question remains.

Why?

Wasn’t it cheaper to find one here that wasn’t in such a bad state? Or is it simply because you wanted to save this one? Either way, great work so far!

Love the upgrades. Do you plan on just dailying this one or do you have anything else planned for it? Maybe some trackdays

It was still cheaper to import especially with A/C.

They are here crazy 3.5k-5k. most of it need to do same job as here.

I got it for 750euros, they thought the piston rings were shot but, turns out overfilled oil.
Hiring a trailer was 50euros and diesel was 150euro.
RDW is 200 for import fee and plates 35euros
BPM is 0
They took over the TUV report so I have valid inspection till 21 sept 2024

A lot of 276 in Germany with some work for 1k or less with A/C

I can make it better than that with less.

Maybe Nordschleife track days

I got this tank door lock pin in was broken on mine:

I have my remote, mirror housing and set of mid console buttons that arent scratched in:

  • installing central door locking remote on Cuore (from Sirion 2)
  • replacing my catalyst, as the old one is empty and no flex piece
  • replacing the wrong repaired exhaust flex flange
  • Installing headlights LHD beam instead of the RHD ones which they sent wrong
  • getting my fuel consumption down
  • installing LED in my interior lights
  • installing missing bumper clips
  • installing auxiliary belt as this has never been replaced
  • removing anti tamper lambda sensor plate
  • installing new flex connection bolts and springs
  • installing new exhaust manifold gasket
  • installing flex piece donut gasket
  • made the heatshield from the Cuore fit the Aygo catalyst
  • adjusted my headlight height
  • found some soap around the belt by the last owner the keep the belt not squeak
  • washed my car again
  • got some clips from a still existing daihatsu dealer

2nd oil change after 3200km

Its very black this oil.

I have it filled with 0w20 as recommended on the manual.

Lets see the fuel economy

If you’re interested, I have a set of JDM Mira RS taillights and HKB Sports steeringwheel hub for sale (in NL). They were for another L276 but unfortunately that project stranded a while ago.

I thought the metal ring around the O2 sensors is a heat shield to help protect the sensor from the excess radiant heat in the position its in

As can still get a proper O2 sensor socket on it? The ones with the notch cut out for the wiring

Funny thing about the heat shield is that the Aygo one doesn’t have

Could always be an aftermarket sensor maybe?

No different suppliers etc.

Aygo have Bosch lambdas and Daihatsu always have Denso. Anyway it doesnt matter I was thinking replacing the upper one anyway with a new Denso one

I managed to buy a Daihatsu Materia fuel tank (40L) incl. pump and a fuel filter for my cuore.

Toyota Passo recommends to change the lifetime filter at 180000km

I need to swap over the fuel leveller inside as the resistance on the gauge is not the same.

I have also changed my spare fuel pump the main fuel filter.

I need to order the strainer and clip holding it

I finally have my fuel pump gasket in:

And I went to the scrapyard to buy more options for my cuore:

I got my tank screws for the upgrade fuel tank

They are much better than the OEM Daihatsu bolts which are not phosphated and cost the same:

OEM are these:

I managed to:

Installed the Materia fuel tank with some small mods on the brackets. With new fuel filter.
Installed sway bar
replace broken mirror edges
Measured speakers for later to upgrade (13cm)

Lets see what it can do with 40L fuel with an average of 4.6L/100km

I drove today 100km/h with new fuel filter I see 3.5L/100km avg, maybe this full tank of E5 will go 1100km +/-
