I have been searching long and hard to find a wiring diagram for the EF-DET.
I believe I have found one though I am not sure if its for the ECU I have or the ECU that @evilhighway has… in any case its all in Japanese, is anyone here able to translate?
I tried a few online places but they all failed to do it due to it being a PDF with images and not plain text…
So has been some time since I last posted but have been busy organising bits and bobs for the car.
From Malaysia I ordered
New engine mounts
Drivers side LCA
New Drivers and Passenger Drive Shafts
New hoses
New dipstick (the one on new engine was a bit damaged)
I have also found and purchased an ECU and a L700s EF-DET Engine Loom which looks to have the correct plugs for the ECU I am getting, these will arrive sometime in March.
Been a busy couple weeks at home so have not done any work on the car recently but will be getting stuck back into it soon enough
So the previous video was a bit of a trick in that I didn’t have the EF-DET computer running and it was started from the EJ computer.
Not because I didn’t know how, big thanks to Luke K for giving me the needed hint before it was needed, I just had big struggles popping pins from the ecu plug.
So today my BIL comes around, auto electriction, fixes the one pin to make it run new ecu
Today I got to finishing off the rest of things to get the car back on the ground, I swapped the air filter for a small motorbike one, it is a much better fit the the big filter I had, hopefully it isn’t too small
that filter is the same size as what I had on my turbo move. worked well. Would it be worth getting the whole exhaust done at the same time? It will make it flow better and not restrict it. If funds available ofcoarse.
Have not been driving the car much, when I ordered new seals for the gearbox I was only able to get one genuine one and one non genuine, sadly the non genuine one is leaky, unsure if my mistake or it’s just not quite right.
Have ordered new seals from Toyota and have a ten or so week wait for them, then the fun of refitting it
On a positive note, the car is fun to drive though I am keeping an eye out for a copen gearbox to replace the long ratio EJ box as it’s not quite suited for the 660.
