Toyota Avensis touring 2009 2.0 D-4D logs/maintainance

So after buying 2 Daihatsus and using my BMW 118d to tow them back.
I decided to upgrade the tow car.
My mum will still use the bimmer but, I will use this car as tow and comfort.
Again import as I cant find a diesel and Black Avensis in Holland at normal prices.
Belgium this time not far

It has a very interesting robust diesel engine as it is square 86x86mm.

A lot to do on this one but, no rust so saves the welding work.
No lowering on this one. Just standard repairs.

So far to do:

Interior upgrade
facelift 2013 front install
rear lights to 2013 install
Intake cleaning
glow plugs change?
bonnet release fix
washer pump oem
left door hinges replacements

Done:
Washing car and engine bay
P2002 fix (DPF cleaning)
brake fluid is good only 1% moisture
cabin filter changed
Engine oil change/ fuel filter change
gearbox oil change
fuel filter change
LED headlights upgrade
LED high beam
change wheels with some Lexus wheels and smaller tyres
shift knob change
undercoating
headlights polish
sway bar links replaced with KYB

I am going to make a log of my car what I have done.

So I got my A/C panel fixed. New are over 1k Euros and used 200-350euros each.

I also managed to fix the ashtray bulb
Washer pump was broke I also have replaced it
OEM wheels back on
OEM Lexus NX wheels, need other tyres they are too high
Made a spare key
Changed diesel filter after the first one had 314000km
cleaned pedal rubbers with dishwasher
went to inspection only found out DPF was almost clogged and one bulb was not correct colour.
I also fuelled up with HVO100 which has less soot and keeps the emission system clean

I have done yesterday the following:

  • Undercoat my car with Hammerrite and removal of surface rust
  • Finding oem wheel bolts toyota
  • Finding oem washer pump and a shift knob
  • Replacing engine oil/filter with C3 oil as per DPF and gearbox oil with 75W MTF-3 GL-4
  • Measuring brake fluid moisture %
  • replace sway bar end links with new one as the old one was torn also dry inside.
  • it had a advice last year on the sway bar links at the Belgian inspection

  • made a spare key also as it only had one key
  • installed LED low beam (H11)
  • installed LED high beam (HB3)
  • installed side light (W5W)

I have my registration finished and want to pass the inspection unfortunately the EGR is so clogged it didnt pass the particle test. So now I must clean the intake and replace the DPF.

I have cleaned the intake system now it was a mess:

I used paint thinner and oven cleaner to clean it

A lot of rags and screwdriver work:

I managed to upgrade/fix the following:

  • Rear lights upgrade to mid facelift incl. wiring to give power to the middle lights
  • fixing the fuel leak
  • replacing a fuel hose that is brittle hard
  • replacing the battery to a VRLA/AGM as I do a lot accessory run using engine off
  • fueling the car up with GTL or HVO100 fuel as per diesel specialist said if you plan to use alternative fuels let the seal get used to the fuel
  • washed all the leaked fuel off my floor and chassis/ engine bay
  • upgraded rear springs with KYB flex as the rear sags too much when loaded
