I was told these seats are prone to rattling like this, there has to be a solution for it right?

I’ve made sure the 4 rail bolts to the floor are tight, and the bolts underneath holding the seat to the rails are tight as well.

What else should I look at when I pull the seats?? Driving me absolutely batty.

I have no idea on this one mate I have never had cool jdm seats in any of my dai’s I have only had the crappy aussie delivered seats. Im sure there is a solution though.

Could be a crack in the frame. I would remove the upholstery if really concerned. The C clips that need to be cut are what we use here in fencing to hold wire together. The clips and pliers to replace them are cheap. Mostly though I pull the covers to fix broken springs, repair foam and most of all to sculpture (often welding in extra bolstering).

My 93 TRXx had very tall side profile and cheap tires on it when i bought it locally. So bad that it rubbed badly on the tread when cornering even slightly fast and hard. I changed to 165/60/13 Yokohama A539 and it transformed it. They poke out quite a bit from the rim but no rubbing or any other issues. I did have to get special valve stems from ebay though but they were cheap and tire place had no issues with them or fitting the tires. Though they weren’t pleased about getting the tires to fit it all went ok. Been running it with those tires for years now all year round when im not driving my other cars.

I may have accidentally on purpose fitted a rubber chicken to the hose that goes from the stock bov to the factory airbox. That was when I took off the airbox and fitted a cone filter. It gets a lot of laughs.

@Alex_Leavey could you please make your way here ALL NEW PEOPLE - Live To Dai

and do a small intro. In the pic below I have circled new topic. (so you know where to go.
This is where you will need to click and do an intro thread.
By doing an intro thread It will open more of the forum to you after a short time and also we get to hear and see (if you post a pic or 2) a little about your Dai or the dai’s you are interested in.

Thankyou

Odd situation, but the gas cap is now just missing somehow?

Filled it up the other night, and TOOK A PHOTO of the gas cap after I tightened it back on as it was comically small, and posted it to an Instagram story…gone a few days later. I’m clueless. I would have guessed I didn’t put it back on all the way, but I have a photo of it after the fact. Pretty bummed as it was the original OEM one and has some nice aged patina.

Have one coming from Nik, but does anyone know dimensions or any part numbers or something I can cross-reference in hopes of locating one locally?

should be able to get an emergency/universal one that should work I think
…the gas cap is now just missing somehow…
My girlfriend’s was missing from her 901. She had it replaced with one from a Honda. I’m sure that yours is also shared with some or all Japanese brands. The Japanese are not known for deliberately shutting out such items, between brands

Thanks for this info, going to see if I can order new tires for it next week. Speaking of tires, what pressures should I be targeting with these tires? I’m thinking high 20s/low 30s?

No luck on the gas cap so far, but it seems to run fine with the tank no pressurized oddly enough.

Must have seemed like a crazy person walking into handful of auto parts stores with a caliper measuring all the gas caps they had.

Have a set of NANKANG AS-1 175/50R13s on the way, hoping they’ll take some of the bounce out of it due to what I’m assuming are flat spotted/out of round/out of balance 10+yr old tires.

Also, getting a slight vibration in the car at idle, but everything seems to be sorted, anything I should focus on looking at? I’m wondering if the new motor mounts are harsher rubber than the old ones and they’re transferring more NVH to the chassis?

New engine mounts can be more harsh and can give more vibration at idle. Before many of us over here could access engine mounts. It was quite common (still is) to use sikaflex to fill them. This made them really good but the vibration at idle increases by a lot.
Hopefully, that is all it is and it calms down a bit over time.

Odd question, but what are these two breather/vent tubes actually for?

They seem to have gone into the stock intake tract, what should I do with them if I’m using a straight through intake tube now? Re-route them to the catch can? Cap them off??

have you got a bigger pic? From what I can see the one on the left is the crankcase breather and yes that will go to the catch can. Not sure on the other one as I cant quite tell from the pic.
