oh if thats the case that is similar to toyota camry and huge.

When you say you had some 320cc injectors that were on an EJDE, is that the stock EJ injector size?

no they were on a turbo ejde that were taken out and upgraded to 720cc injector’s lol

Ah, gotcha :+1:
Any idea on the stock ejde size?

no idea sorry mate.

EJDE are 220cc, found a thread on injectors you’d made in DIY back in 2019. So that’s a big diff between 90cc and 220cc.

660cc EFVE injectors might be the way I go. Look the same size as the EJDE ones I’ve got now, just smaller in CC just not sure how smaller.
Plenty on Yahoo Auctions, be about $140 landed through Import Monster. But I’ve asked on the FB group first to see if anyone might have a set first. Most of the listings say they’re from the L150/L250/L350 models.

A tip for finding injector sizes is checking out the injector test procedure in the workshop manual of that particular car. It will tell you to apply fuel pressure and apply voltage for X amount of time and measure how many ml of fuel comes out to check if they are good. Most workshop manuals have this. You can use the values in the workshop manual for this test to calulate the cc of the injector.
Example: if the manual says apply voltage for 30 sec and the fuel should be between 70 to 80 ml, then you know the injectors are 150cc/min

Thanks Mick.
I’m going to have to print all these manuals out as I do everything on my phone to view them.

Yesterday I fitted a fuel tank breather, you know the one that goes from the tank to the filler neck just under the cap?
I’m running the efi fuel cradle in the carby fuel tank which doesn’t have the breather on the cradle, it’s on the tank unlike the carby version which is on the cradle.

I’m saving a complete jb-det from work, it came from a l880k copen. It’s not useable as the rings are shot but I was just going to keep a few bits as spares rather than see them binned.
It’s got a good turbo aswell, so I may use it to turbo my efgl using a ej factory turbo manifold.
Which means I’ll have to look at management and I’m leaning towards a Everything Fuel Injection ecu who is based in Tasmania. They are pretty cheap, which is what I like. $290 from memory.

In regards to my injector problem. I tried the ef-el injectors, they do fit the head and rail but unfortunately their width means they foul on the plastic rail spacers so I won’t be using them.

oh bugga about the injectors I really thought they may be the solution.

also why not rebuild the jbdet?

Me too, I could get rough and start shaving the spacers.

Could rebuild the jbdet, as I can have engine loom and subframe too, although I’ve no idea if the l880k subframe is a direct bolt up to the L500. It’s just a matter of cost I guess and what else could possibly be worn inside. My boss actually imported a secondhand one out of Japan to replace it, so he must of thought that was the cheaper way to go than rebuild.

Bought an eBay boss kit and fitted my 16 year old Autotechnia steering wheel. My brother got it for me as a Christmas present when I had my Toyota Soarer and it’s been on a few cars since, even my first L2 J spec.
Boss kit fitted perfectly but they gave me a Toyota horn button instead of a Daihatsu one.

If your in no hurry with the jb then it would definitely be worth it. @FrAsErTaG put an jbdet in his trxx yrs ago and it was an efgl gearbox that fit up to it. I think mc hammer was involved a little bit also to fit it but that would be a great upgrade.

Do you know if the engine mounts lined up?

@frasertag would have a better Idea as he is the only one I know that has done it. All the info was on the old daiforum forum but that has now been gone over a year.

I’ll see if @FrAsErTaG can shed some light on the conversion.

Right now I’ve ordered a big oversized wang from Malaysia.

I’m also working on the temp sender so I can get the dash guage working and thermo fan working by itself. Swapped it over to a EJDE sender to match it to the EJ engine loom but still not working haha

I always have issues with these 2 things in dais. I had little Chinese Ali express gauges for my move and for my latest running L2 I bought a block trxx gauge for the speedo/temp and fuel gauge not to work. As I didn’t have cash b4 last track day the only way I could have those gauges was a dodgey setup where my stereo went with chopped-up gauges from the original cluster. It was not pretty but worked.
